Georgia Southern University announces Spring 2017 President's List
Georgia Southern University recently recognized more than 1,350 students for excellence in academics on the Spring 2017 semester President's List. To be eligible for the President's List, a student must have at least a 4.0 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

University of North Georgia announces Dean's Lists for spring 2017
The deans of each of UNG's five colleges - the College of Arts & Letters, the College of Education, the College of Health Sciences & Professions, the Mike Cottrell College of Business, and the College of Science & Mathematics - announced the names of those students who made their respective lists for spring 2017. Dean's List recognition is achieved by having at least a 3.5 grade point average, carrying 12 or more credit hours in one semester and having no grade lower than B.

UA Announces Inductees Into Phi Beta Kappa
The University of Alabama has inducted 41 students into its chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. UA recently inducted 43 College of Arts and Sciences students into its chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. Founded on December 5, 1776, The Phi Beta Kappa Society is the nation's most prestigious academic honor society. It has chapters at 286 colleges and universities in the United States, 50 alumni associations, and more than half a million members worldwide. Noteworthy members include 17 U.S. Presidents, 39 Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States and more than 130 Nobel Laureates. The mission of The Phi Beta Kappa Society is to champion education in the liberal arts and sciences, foster freedom of thought, and recognize academic excellence. UA's chapter was founded in 1851. Students are elected to membership on the basis of outstanding academic achievement in the liberal arts and sciences.

UA Students Win 14 Fulbright Awards for 2017-2018
For the 2017-2018 competition period, 14 University of Alabama students have been selected for Fulbright Awards. This year's total sets a record number of awardees for UA in the prestigious international exchange program. Five University of Alabama students and alumni received Fulbright Awards for research and study during the 2017-2018 academic year. Nine 2017 graduates received Fulbright Awards to serve as English teaching assistants overseas for the 2017-2018 academic year.

Georgia Southern announces graduates for Fall 2016 Commencement Ceremony
The 25th annual Georgia Southern Fall 2016 Commencement Ceremony represented a momentous day as approximately 1,700 of Georgia's best and brightest undergraduate and graduate students received degrees from the University's eight colleges. Approximately 400 graduate degrees were conferred, while around 1,300 undergraduate students received degrees.

Wofford students study abroad during Interim 2017
Wofford's Interim is a time for exploration and experiential learning away from the rigors of traditional academic courses for students and faculty alike. Students may choose from a variety of on-campus courses, professional internships and research projects, study abroad opportunities or their own independent study project, approved and guided by a faculty advisor. More than 200 students chose to study abroad during Interim 2017.

More than 3,300 students receive degrees from Georgia Southern during Spring 2016 Commencement
On May 6 and 7, Georgia Southern University held its annual spring commencement ceremonies for graduate and undergraduate students at Hanner Fieldhouse and Allen E. Paulson Stadium. Interim University President Jean E. Bartels, Ph.D., R.N., conferred more than 3,300 doctoral, master's, specialist and bachelor's degrees from the University's eight colleges during two separate ceremonies.
